SOLO IN MANALI
We all know whenever we think about going on a trip, lots of shitty things happen. Convince your friends and sometimes their family too then how, where, how long, how many etc etc. But when I thought of Manali came, I knew that I didn't want any of that to happen and didn't want a single thing to ruin my trip. So I came with the only solution and went on a solo trip. Now for few alone on a solo trip might be scary and for few it might be too normal. For me, it was scary but not bad scary, exciting scary. I wanted to do it.
I took my bus from Delhi to Manali at night & there were all kinds of groups travelling with me- friends, families, couples. The night journey was like a dream. With music playing in background and you kinda visit every city or village on your way well atleast technically and even though you absolutely have no idea about those places even the images are vague because of humidity on windows, you fall in love with them because you are on your own enjoy aura around you and not someone's overwhelming company. It's like you have been to each city you are crossing because you are all there in that journey - not talking to anyone, not sharing it, just travelling with those cities as they pass.
In morning when we reached Manali, the view was something you would love to open your tired and sleepy eyes to. When I got down from that bus, all I could feel was cold (temp. was -1°) and my eyes, not showing any intention to blink.
My camp stay was near "BAHANU BRIDGE" over that unstoppable, as much clean that I could actually see through water, river. I love camping and as some people had mentioned there camps are not as comfy as hotel rooms specially in winters but vibe in there was delusional. Next part was super fun- HIKING. I feel like these things- hiking, trekking, mountaineering etc. makes you feel like you don't feel tormented when destination is worthwhile. But yes that doesn't mean your legs won't hurt later. Still, when you get to dance on DJ on Christmas night, you'll not care how frosty it is or how much tired your body is. You will still do Bhangra on Sidhu Moose Wala's songs (am a crazy punjabi as all Punjabis are).
Travelling solo is just your experience, other than you no one can own that moment. What part I loved about solo trip was that it was all me. Whenever I saw a beautiful view I had no one to share that feeling to, so I were just telling myself "Look, so beautiful" and that happiness that anyone else would have experienced, I'm experiencing it now and it again making me happy kinda Triple happiness that I were getting from myself. You meet a lot of people when you travel solo because you are all alone so every new company is just a company for you. Ya it was risky sometimes as I met some creeps too so ya horrible and haunting sometimes but you have to be strong enough to deal with it and escape it.
Things I hatred was missing something that you can only do with friends and ofcourse worse - having no one to click your pictures so, they are always disappointing but again then good part of it is that you get to experience quote of TONI MORRISON
“At some point in life the world’s beauty becomes enough. You don’t need to photograph, paint or even remember it. It is enough.”
- Tony Morrison
And yes it was enough.
